Webinar info

Would you like to feel more confident in assessing intervention effects?

Would you like to have more means to make intervention caused changes visible?

This webinar offers just that, as the purpose of the day is to present ways to measure the effectivity of an intervention in clinical work. It is aimed especially at speech and language therapists proving interventions for children with the aim of providing tools for everyday life.

During the day, ways to measure changes in the client’s performance (language skills, speech production, fluency) and participation (play, friendship skills, satisfaction with participation) will be presented. In addition, the idea of time series design is introduced. If the client’s skills are measured only before and after intervention, it cannot be proven that the change has been caused by intervention. The change can also be explained, for example, by other support or the child’s maturation. The time series design can be used to control the impact of other factors and thus identify the change caused by intervention. At the end of the day, the possibilities of presenting the change that has taken place visually and numerically will be presented. These can be used to motivate the client and the persons close to them.

The webinar is given by Sirpa Tarvainen, MA, licensed speech and language therapist and doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki. In her dissertation Tarvainen examines oral language comprehension intervention in children and adolescents. The training is based on the knowledge acquired during the doctoral research. This is combined with experience in clinical work with children who have language difficulties.

The price of the webinar is €269 (incl. VAT 25.5%) including the electronic lecture material. For more information, please email info@takingturns.eu or call +358407090976.
