This practical course is the continuation of the ‘Oral language comprehension interventions for children and adolescents with language disorders or difficulties webinar. It deepens the insight of oral language comprehension interventions and provides information on the latest therapy techniques. The course is meant for speech and language therapists who work with children. Participating in the ‘Oral language comprehension interventions for children and adolescents with language disorders or difficulties webinar is a prerequisite for attending this course.

The main content of the day are the latest interventions for enhancing oral language comprehension, their efficacy and level of evidence without forgetting practical tips. Also, it will be discussed what can be said about the order of enhancing oral language comprehension skills based on research literature.

During the webinar the participants will considerate how to apply the day’s information into their client’s intervention. Each participant is therefore asked to bring one client case with them. The necessary information is age, short background information, linguistic difficulties, and their effect on everyday life.

The webinar is given by Sirpa Tarvainen, MA, speech and language therapist and a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Helsinki, Finland. The content of this webinar is based on her ongoing dissertation. This is combined with other literature on the matter and her experience in clinical practice.
